VANA members services officer Geoff Deas has been visiting Newsagents throughout Victoria and assisting with various business challenges and issues they are encountering.
Over the past month Geoff has assisted a Bayside Newsagent with advice on updating her point of sale system so they can manage the business more easily with a focus on balancing the cash drawer each night.
He has helped a South Eastern newsagent to write up job descriptions and re-structure their early morning distribution process. Geoff has also engaged News Corp to assist so that the Newsagent is not paying excessive wages when papers are late.
A shopping centre Newsagent has also been able to formulate a marketing plan with the assistance of Geoff to increase services and therefore sales turnover from other businesses within the shopping centre.
An inner city newsagent was provided by Geoff promotioanl flyers to market iGear and parcel services to the large student population in their area.
